Welcome to the Mill Shop!

At the Mill Shop, we are passionate about repurposing fabric and yarn. Our shop is a hub for both retail sales and community donations, where we give new life to surplus yarns and fabric from the renowned Sudbury Silk Mills. Together, we can create a world where creativity flourishes, waste is minimised, and the weaving industry thrives.

In 2022 alone, we were able to donate an incredible 2004 meters of fabric and 68 kilograms of yarn to non-profit organisations. As we move forward, our dedication to community donation remains unwavering. We will continue to collaborate with schools, museums and local charity groups to provide them with the resources they need to make a difference.

Schools

Our contributions are frequently used in schools, where students are able to explore their creativity and learn about the world of textiles.

Museums

Museums use our donated materials to enhance their exhibits, showcasing the rich history and cultural significance of fabric and yarn.

Local charity

Local charity groups utilise our donations to support their initiatives, helping those in need and fostering positive change within our community.

Opening times:

We’re making some changes to how the Mill Shop operates. Going forward, the shop will be appointment-only Monday to Friday (9:30am–4:00pm).

To help everyone adjust, we’ll be open as usual until the 20th of June and remain open on Wednesdays until the 20th July. Thereafter we will be appointment only. If you’d like to visit outside Wednesday, just get in touch to book — we’d love to see you.

Drop-in Wednesdays only for one month: 10am – 4pm
