Welcome to the Mill Shop!

At the Mill Shop, we are passionate about repurposing fabric and yarn. Our shop is a hub for both retail sales and community donations, where we give new life to surplus yarns and fabric from the renowned Sudbury Silk Mills. Together, we can create a world where creativity flourishes, waste is minimised, and the weaving industry thrives.

Last year we donated over 1.6 tonnes of textiles and yarn to universities, colleges, and non-profit organisations. As we move forward, our dedication to community donation remains unwavering. We will continue to collaborate with schools, museums and local charity groups to provide them with the resources they need to make a difference.

The shop is open every Wednesday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, visits are by pre-booked appointment only, between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm. If you’d like to visit on a day other than Wednesday, please do get in touch to book an appointment — we’d love to see you.

Please note that the Mill Shop is the only part of the Mill open to the public. As we’re a busy working mill, we’re unable to offer tours or general public access, but we’re always delighted to welcome visitors to the Mill Shop. Inside, you’ll find examples of textiles woven by all three companies, a beautifully restored 1840s Jacquard loom, high quality fabric remnants, craft, and gift items.

Our contributions are frequently used in schools, where students are able to explore their creativity and learn about the world of textiles.
